LOUISVILLE, KY – March 18, 2026 — Post-Quantum Cryptography (PQC) is critical for protecting sensitive data and communications against future quantum computing threats. However, PQC algorithms are computationally heavy, memory-intensive, high-latency, and bandwidth-demanding, presenting major integration hurdles for large, complex distributed legacy systems.

To address these performance challenges, InfoBeyond was awarded a project by the Naval Information Warfare Systems Command (NAVWAR) to develop PQCaudit, a measurement-driven PQC assessment and auditing tool designed to evaluate the feasibility of PQC integration across diverse legacy hardware, computing, and networking environments. PQCaudit instrumentally measures PQC handshake latency, encapsulation and decapsulation costs, signing and verification speeds, pre-shared key (PSK) resumption hit rates, energy consumption per cryptographic operation, and end-to-end update latency on representative legacy hardware.

PQCaudit accelerates PQC migration by quantifying latency, energy, and security trade-offs to guide pragmatic deployments on legacy commodity hardware. Designed for defense and critical enterprise sectors, including cloud, telecommunications, energy, transportation, logistics, industrial control systems, and finance, PQCaudit delivers an auditable, cost-saving framework for fleet-scale quantum-resistant key management and secure distribution, maintaining operational readiness while curbing CPU, bandwidth, and upgrade costs.
